Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 Review

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 Review

Wow, what can I say. The long awaited wait was worth it. This was probably the greatest Harry Potter movie to date. Not only did it involve lots of action. Harry and friends did so much more compared to the last few movies.

SPOILERS!!!!!

It is sad everytime they kill off characters, but you can't change the books. Three main characters died, Mad Eye, Harry's owl and Hedwig all died. It is disappointing that these 3 characters died, but I guess they need to, in order to move the story along.

Harry has more fight in him this time around, and it shows. He who shall not be named now is corrupting the ministry of magic. The half wizards are shunned and singled out. Even killed.... So what if they are half human half wizard. Just makes them that more powerful.

The dark lord has the right idea to fear them, as they are the future of wizardry! It is so sad that this is the 2nd to last movie they will be making. I am however happy there is one more movie left to the series!

If you have not seen it yet, go see it now!

J.K. Rowling hints to Oprah there could be more 'Harry Potter'

OMG!! I knew she couldn't resist, the end of Harry Potter was so boring! I mean what will Harry be like when he's older and how powerful!

Fans, rejoice -- J.K. Rowling offered a bit of hope on Friday that, perhaps, the final Harry Potter story has yet to be told.
"I could definitely write an eighth, ninth, tenth," the celebrated author, 45, told Oprah Winfrey during an interview scheduled to air Friday. "I'm not going to say I won't. I don't think I will ... I feel I am done, but you never know."
Speaking in Edinburgh, where the interview took place, Rowling said she felt something of a loss upon finishing the saga's last installment,"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." "It was a bereavement," she said.
Not that she's completely put down her pen. Rowling plans to write more books, and feels there is no need to match or top her previous achievement.

Albus Dumbledore

The headmaster of the Wizarding school Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Always guiding Harry Potter and his friends even when Harry doesn't know it. So sad at the ending of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. If I went to a school with him as a headmaster, I would do the smart thing and train under him personally. Wouldn't you??

Wiki; "In the film adaptations of Philosopher's Stone (2001) and Chamber of Secrets (2002), Dumbledore was played by Richard Harris, who was expected to play Dumbledore throughout the series. Harris mentioned that he was originally not going to take the role, since he knew his own health was in decline. He accepted because his then-11-year-old granddaughter threatened never to speak to him again if he did not take it. Harris was determined to portray Dumbledore again in Prisoner of Azkaban (which was released in 2004), despite having been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, and asked David Heyman not to recast the role. However, his death on 25 October 2002 necessitated recasting."

According to a post on Twitter from The Twilight Saga’s Justin Chon (Eric Yorkie), the paperwork has been finished and both actors are appearing in the film. Chon tweeted on yesterday. Source HN"

Seats Adjusted on Harry Potter Ride, The Forbidden Journey, to Accommodate Everyone.

This is good news for those who couldn't ride it before. Funny they didn't think of this when making it.

Officials made changes after a insurmountable amount of complaints hit after the park’s opening.

“We always want to accommodate as many guests as possible on our attractions,” Universal spokesman Tom Schroder said. “After watching Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey operate for several months, we made some adjustments to the ride’s overhead restraints that would allow more people to ride. We’re thrilled to be able to give more people the opportunity to experience this attraction.”

Harry Potter Actor says new movies will shock fans.

I can't wait to see how uncomfortable it makes me! Now that Harry is older, they should make it more dark with more action!

"Actor Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the bespectacled boy wizard in Harry Potter, says the new film in the franchise will make some people uncomfortable.

The 21-year-old actor, who has finished filming the final two movies in the blockbuster franchise, says his character will be very close to death after being beaten up by his arch-nemesis Voldemort, which will be difficult for some fans to watch, the Contactmusic reported.

"Voldemort does absolutely kick six bells out of me, and that's what makes it effective, the fact that Harry's a kid having the crap beaten out of him. If it's Voldemort killing an adult - well, he does that loads in the films," Radcliffe said.

"To see him brutalising and desperately trying to kill a 17-year-old boy is hopefully going to shake some people up," he added.

The actor, who was only 11-year-old during his first Harry Potter film, believes that the his character is yet to grow up.

"Someone said to me the other day, 'Is there one point where Harry becomes a man?' and the thing is, I don't think he does in this film Source: NDTV"

Emma Watson slams Twilight saga for 'selling sex'

'Harry Potter' star Emma Watson slams 'Twilight' saga for 'selling sex'

"Harry Potter" star Emma Watson just put a stake through the heart of "Twilight" fans.

The 22-year-old actress, who reprises her role as Hermione in the upcoming "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part I," bashed the rival franchise during a conference call with journalists, OK! Magazine reported.

"This kiss between Hermione and Ron [Weasley played by co-star Rupert Grint] is highly anticipated, it's been building up for eight films now. And Harry Potter is not 'Twilight,' you know," Watson told reporters. "We're not selling sex."

Watson had been addressing the long-gestating romance between Hermione and Ron, leading up to a kiss which is a fan favorite from the book, but was uncomfortable for her and Grint to film.

"In fact, it was horribly awkward; we couldn't stop laughing. Source: NY Daily"

She has a point. :)

All About Luna Lovegood

What would Harry Potter be without Luna, the crazy, wacky and awesome friend. :)

"Wiki: Luna Lovegood is a Ravenclaw student one year younger than Harry. She is described as having straggly, waist-length dirty blond hair and a "permanently surprised look". Rowling has often said that Luna is the "anti-Hermione", as Luna believes in faith alone, while Hermione grounds her views on facts and logic.[17] Her father, Xenophilius Lovegood, is the editor-in-chief of The Quibbler. When Luna was only 9 years old, her mother was killed while performing spell experiments. Luna witnessed the accident which enabled her to see Thestrals. Luna is socially isolated at school, but she appears to care little for what others think."

J.K. Rowling donates $15.4 million to MS Research (Multiple Sclerosis)

This is really nice of her I hope her money helps the cause.

"Author J.K. Rowling has donated $15.4 million to a multiple sclerosis research and treatment center at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.

The creator of the "Harry Potter" franchise says she hopes the clinic will become "a world center for excellence in the field of regenerative neurology."

Rowling's mother, Anne, died of complications related to MS at 45, before her daughter found literary fame. The currently incurable neurological disease can take many forms, ranging from relatively mild and manageable to progressive and debilitating. The center will also study Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and Huntington's diseases.

"I cannot think of anything more important, or of more lasting value, than to help the university attract world-class minds in the field on neuroregeneration, to build on its long and illustrious history of medical research and, ultimately, to seek a cure for a very Scottish disease," Rowling said in a statement Tuesday.

"Very Scottish disease" may refer to the fact that MS in more common in people from northern latitudes. The donation is the biggest charitable gift made by Rowling, who just turned 45 herself and is a longtime Edinburgh resident. Source: LA Times"

Universal's Harry Potter Park to Expand

YES! This is great, I plan on taking many pictures when I go. Then when the changes happen, I will show exclusive after photos!

"The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure may be undergoing an expansion as soon as Summer 2012!

Apparently The Lost Continent area isn't very popular anymore and Harry Potter just might take over that region of the park within the next 2 to 3 years!
